St. Patrick's Day -- Guinness Beer

Guinness is an Irish beer, especially popular on St. Patrick's Day. This Guinness Beer postcard is an odd size: 2-7/8" x 5-3/4". Its age is unknown — possibly 1970s. Under the picture is printed "GUINNESS STOUT Imported by — THE GUINNESS-HARP CORP., NEW YORK, N.Y."

  2. I read a great article yesterday about Guinness myths. While it not be especially good for you, it doesn't seem as though it's especially bad for you either. I'm not much of a beer drinker but, when I drink it, this is the one.

  3. They had to pass a law recently in Germany so that beer is more expensive than water! I always drank a pint instead of the super expensive piddly bit of mineral water served. I'm glad that the law was passed!

  4. My Irish grandmother was always trying to persuade me to drink stout while pregnant and also while feeding my babies. I never did like Guinness very much, but Mackeson I found more palatable as it was slightly sweeter. As it still is, of course. I put Mackeson in our family recipe Christmas pudding every year.
